What Is a Mounted Print?

A mounted print is a photo printed directly onto a rigid, ¼-inch black photo board with a white base layer for enhanced brightness and contrast. This sleek, frameless design creates a gallery-worthy look that’s both lightweight and durable. Perfect for modern interiors, mounted photo prints offer a contemporary alternative to traditional framed art.

Mounted photo panels look stunning as standalone statement pieces or as part of a larger gallery wall alongside other wall art styles like canvas prints, metal prints, framed photo prints, photo tiles. Whether you’re updating your bedroom, decorating your hallway, or styling a home office, they offer a stylish way to make your favorite memories part of your everyday environment.

How to Personalize Your Mounted Photo Panel

Customizing your mounted photo panel is easy with Shutterfly. Start by uploading your images directly from your device or from platforms like Facebook, Google Photos, or Amazon Photos. Then, personalize your wall art with a range of layout options, background colors, custom text, fonts, and more. Add captions, dates, or monograms to give your photo mounting project even more meaning.

Choose between unframed and framed options: unframed prints come with a slotted hanging block for a clean, minimalistic look, while framed versions include a metal sawtooth hanger for easy installation. With multiple sizes and frame colors available—including black, white, walnut, and metallic—you can customize your mounted wall art print to complement your existing home décor.

Can Mounted Photo Prints Be Framed?

Yes, Shutterfly’s mounted prints are available both unframed and with a frame. Framed options include a durable metal sawtooth hanger on the back for easy wall mounting, and you can choose from several frame colors including black, white, walnut, and metallic.

What’s the Difference Between Mounted Prints and Canvas Prints?

While both are great ways to display your photos, mounted prints are printed on a photo board with a smooth satin finish and rigid backing, giving them a modern, polished look. Canvas prints are printed on textured canvas and stretched over a wooden frame, offering a more classic, artistic feel. Mounted photo panels have a sleeker profile, while canvas prints add texture and depth.

How Do I Hang Mounted Prints?

Framed mounted prints come with a metal sawtooth hanger for quick and secure hanging. Simply place the hanger over a nail or hook. No additional framing or mounting hardware is needed.
